Over the Christmas break we experienced some great weather...beautiful views of the snow capped mountains and clear, crisp, cold days. I was excited to get out there with my drone to practice some flying. One morning my cousin joined me as we headed to Alouette Lake and we managed to capture some beautiful shots.
We spent about two hours at the lake. We walked around and flew from a few different locations. We also experimented with a few shots of the truck being driven down a road, over a bridge and into the park. This was the most risky shot as the drone could only take off from the bridge. There were many high trees nearby and I thought I made the mistake of standing on the wrong side of the bridge as I was opposite the sun. When the drone was above the bridge I couldn’t see it as I was looking into the sun. I was surprised that I captured a clip of the sun peaking out over the mountains. While at Alouette Lake I didn’t realize I had recorded this. I only discovered the clip while reviewing the footage back at home. I am extremely pleased with the result of the footage. I look forward to heading off to another beautiful place in BC to do the same.
